JOB SUMMARY: The Procurement Lead (Logistics) is responsible for leading and managing the procurement and import logistics. This includes strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost negotiation, purchase order administration, shipment coordination, and ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations. The role ensures the efficient, timely, and cost-effective flow of imported goods from international suppliers to the company’s warehouse or distribution centers, while driving process improvements and maintaining supplier relationships that align with company objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage end-to-end procurement and importation activities, from sourcing and negotiation to shipment tracking and delivery and ensure stock availability across sales channels.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure smooth, compliant, and timely transactions.
- Lead the preparation, verification, and monitoring of import documentation and ensure compliance with trade laws, tariffs, and customs regulations.
- Evaluate supplier performance, market trends, and cost structures to identify opportunities for savings and operational improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to anticipate material requirements, manage inventory flow, and address import-related concerns.
- Review and enhance procurement and logistics processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
- Track and report key procurement KPI metrics, including cost performance, lead times, and compliance indicators.
- Perform and lead ad-hoc tasks/projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- Proven experience in import logistics, customs brokerage or freight forwarding
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulatiosn, import / export compliance, and customs procedures
- 3-4 Years Experience in Import/Export Operations
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong Problem-solving and Organizational abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
