JOB SUMMARY: The Accounting Compliance Specialist will oversee and take responsibility that reports, document submissions, other external attestations, internal policies and procedures minimize compliance risks with regards to external stakeholder rules/regulations (Government, Suppliers and Customers, etc.) As someone in a senior role, the employee must be able to work with, and guide accounting analysts and associates to ensure the division’s duties are carried out while mentoring junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee that regulatory requirements and compliance are met for the Company as a whole (Bureau of Internal Revenue, Local Government Units, Securities and Exchange Commission, and other external stakeholders) and by Revenue Stream/Sales divisions (e.g. BIR Branch requirements and Mall Operations Requirements for Retail, Tax clearances for Distribution and Corporate sales divisions)
- Oversee that internal financial/accounting requirements and policies are met (e.g. Standard Operating Procedures, Accounting Memorandum Orders)
- Lead the tax compliance and planning activities, and act as a liaison between the company and the external tax accountant
- Ensure that tax-related accounts are properly recorded in the accounting system
- Prepares relevant reports pulled from various systems/sources (e.g. POS, ERP)
- Perform and lead Division projects for continuous improvement and business expansion
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Accounting Technology.
- 3-4 years of proven experience as an Accounting and Compliance Specialist, preferably in the consumer electronics industry
- Proficient in Excel functions, including PivotTables and Lookup formulas.
