The Accounting Specialist (Bank Relations) oversees and optimizes treasury operations within the Finance & Accounting (F&A) Department. This role strategically manages relationships with banks and payment partners to ensure liquidity, optimize fees, and access capital, bridging corporate finance and operational execution through the management of cash, bank accounts, credit facilities, and service providers. The role drives process improvements, supports working capital management, ensures compliance with financial and regulatory requirements, and provides functional leadership for treasury-related initiatives, with effective management achieved through regular reviews, leveraging technology, and maintaining open communication to foster financial stability and value optimization. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  1. Treasury, Banking, and Payment Operations 
  • Manage the full bank relationship lifecycle, including bank account openings/closures, maintenance of banking records, and handling credit line applications and renewals to support working capital requirements. 
  • Drive MDR negotiation and expansion efforts for retail and e-commerce channels, focusing on cost and value optimization across multiple banks. 
  • Conduct periodic working capital analysis and monitor payment channel performance, providing data-driven recommendations to Finance leadership on liquidity, cost efficiency, and banking strategy. 

2. Compliance & Regulatory Support 

  • Ensure timely submission of documentary requirements to banks, regulators, and stakeholders while maintaining organized and audit-ready records. 
  • Oversee tracking and renewal of bank agreements, credit facilities, contracts, and government registrations, including authorized signatories and online access. 
  • Safeguard and enforce proper handling, storage, and archiving of sensitive treasury and financial documents, including F&A memoranda. 
  • Promote adherence to internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements. 

3. Collaboration and F&A Support 

  • Serve as the treasury subject matter expert (SME) and lead cross-functional initiatives involving banks, business development, retail, and compliance. 
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization of treasury workflows, documentation, and cash management practices. 
  • Lead and support finance projects and ad hoc initiatives that enhance treasury operations, strengthen internal collaboration, and improve negotiation outcomes with external partners. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • 3–5 years of experience in treasury, banking, or finance roles, with solid exposure to cash management and banking processes. 
  • Strong working knowledge of banking products, cash flow management, payment solutions, and treasury controls. 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide functional leadership, including mentoring and coordinating with junior team members. 
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. 
  • Able to report on-site 5 days/week at Mandaluyong City.
